“The Impact on the business has enabled us to upskill staff and utilise areas on-site to cook in. We have increased sales and heavily reduced food wastage. The benefits of the Flexeserve are as promised. We have benefited greatly from the individual temperature-controlled shelves, allowing us to hold food at the perfect temperature, preserving its freshness and increasing the variety of food items we offer, meeting peak mealtimes throughout the day.”

Customer Overview

For Change Co is a social enterprise with the vision of eliminating youth homelessness in Australia. 100% of profits from the four enterprises – Crêpes for change, Coffee for Change, and home.two go towards helping young people escape the homeless cycle.

The Challenge

home.two is For Change Co’s latest endeavour to disrupt the homelessness cycle for young people aged 16 to 24 in Melbourne, located at Melbourne University’s Parkville campus.

Serving up hot toasted jaffles with a domestic jaffle press was causing problems for Co-Founder and Managing Director, Tenille Gilbert, along with her team.

Tenille quickly realised she couldn’t keep with up with the demand and more importantly, the jaffle press had become a danger to staff, as the handle would become too hot to touch when left on all day.

Tenille reached out to us for support and asked if we would be interested in offering assistance in the form of a commercial jaffle press for her team at home.two.

The Meris Approach

For the Meris team, this was a great opportunity to offer support to a worthy charity organisation whilst delivering on our mission statement to combine “extraordinary passion, commitment and expertise, assisting out clients and delivering vale, trust and innovation.”

We hope that by supporting our local community and the hospitality industry which matters the most to us,
For Change Co’s success can continue well into the future, supporting young adults making a start in hospitality.
