Effeuno – Apple Tarte Tatin

You can do more with an Effeuno pizza oven than you may think!

Easily increase your range of hot food offerings or even ad this to cold salads! Keep your vegetarian customers happy and increase profits all with one little countertop oven! Are you ready to enjoy this French classic?

Ingredients:

·   Pink Lady or Jazz Apples

·   All Butter Puff Pastry

·   Sugar

·   Butter

·   Cinnamon Quill

·   Star Anise

Method:

Step 1:

Preheat Effeuno to 220 Degrees.

In a large saucepan over a medium heat, distribute the water, cinnamon quill, star anise and sugar evenly and cook until light amber in colour.

Stir to melt any lumps, 5-7 minutes.

Add the butter, stirring constantly until the colour is a creamy light brown. Add the apples, stirring until they are coated in a thick layer of caramel.

Step 2:

Arrange the apple slives in circles on the bottom of the cake pan. Press the apples tightly against each other, then pour the remaining caramel over the top.

Step 3:

Lay the circle of puff pastry on top. Tuck the puff pastry down the sides of the pan.

Step 4:

Bake for 30-45 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and firm.
