Michael Brick recalls his foray into food fondly. Alongside his father and brother, Michael embarked on a journey to build ‘Perfect Fry Co Australia’. Later rebranding as Meris Food Equipment, the team embraced more trade shows, more cooking, better showrooms and range of clients. From the outset, he recalls the great clients being fellow family businesses.
“We found great personal reward and heartfelt warmth from our customers that returned to exclaim what our contribution to their business did for them. Put kids in school. Paid for weddings. Helped them expand. Gave them the town’s ‘best hot chips!’. Hearing how you contributed to the lives of others and their families is a reward hard to match,” says Michael.
25 years later and Meris is still driven by people first and foremost. Exemplary service is at its core, driven by an unshakeable ethos of feeding and uniting, prioritising customers over sales. Michael and his team want nourishing, fresh and vibrant food offerings to be accessible for more businesses unsure about branching out into new offerings, be it a delicious sandwich, dim sim or a hot pie.
